Alliance AutoGas Surpasses 2,000 EPA Certifications

As the transportation industry accelerates toward cleaner, more sustainable solutions, Alliance AutoGas (AAG) is proud to announce a major milestone: over 2,000 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-certified vehicle platforms are now approved to operate on autogas.

This milestone, reached at the close of 2024, highlights AAG’s continued commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility. New certifications include the 2024 3.0-liter EcoBoost, 2024 3.5-liter EcoBoost, and the 2024 6.6-liter L8T, covering an impressive array of popular models like the Ford Explorer, Transit, Lincoln Aviator, Silverado, Sierra, Express, and Savanna.

“It’s exciting to have such a large number and wide variety of engine and vehicle platforms to operate on autogas,” said Stephen Holland, AAG’s Vice President of Engineering. “AAG has the largest library of EPA approvals, and we are proud to contribute to the shifting landscape of the automotive industry.”

Certified for Performance and Compliance

Earning EPA certification is no small feat. Every AAG system undergoes rigorous testing, including rolling road dynamometer emissions tests and engine dynamometer evaluations, all designed to meet stringent EPA standards for environmental and operational integrity. These certifications are a direct reflection of AAG’s engineering precision and quality.

Expanding the Engineered System Portfolio

The addition of the EcoBoost engine platforms significantly broadens AAG’s Engineered System offerings—giving fleets across North America more flexible, cleaner options that don’t compromise performance. And performance is on full display with AAG’s Ford Explorer ST 3.0L V6 EcoBoost, showcased at the NPGA Southeastern & International Propane Expo. This bi-fuel powerhouse delivers 400 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 415 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm—all while running on a cleaner-burning fuel.

With bold enhancements like Rotiform RSE wheels, Toyo Open Country A/T tires, Thule wingbars, and a Racktec Tanto basket, this showcase vehicle exemplifies the possibilities of modern autogas technology.

Looking Ahead: Hybrids and More

AAG isn’t stopping here. Holland shared that the company will increasingly focus on autogas and electric vehicle hybridization, further expanding sustainable fleet options for transportation providers across the country.

“Each year, our dedicated team of engineers works tirelessly to develop and test bi-fuel systems tailored to new vehicle platforms,” said Holland. “With each new certification, we aim to provide efficient, reliable and sustainable options that support the future of fleet management and contribute to a cleaner environment.”

Powered by a National Network

As a division of Blossman Gas, Alliance AutoGas is supported by a powerful network of more than 120 independent propane marketers and authorized conversion centers across North America. This vast infrastructure allows AAG to provide end-to-end autogas solutions to light-, medium-, and heavy-duty fleets—making it easier than ever for organizations to switch to a cleaner, cost-effective alternative.
